Experienced Roles
Industrial Designer
Beijing
Full-time
More than 2 years of experience
Bachelor's degree or higher
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for defining the overall industrial design style and establishing the product language for robots and their related equipment (main body, teleoperation devices, end effectors, bionic dexterous hands).
- Responsible for the product's appearance design, proportion relationships, surface design, and structural casing scheme design, ensuring that the design simultaneously meets aesthetics, functionality, and engineering feasibility.
- Participate in the full-process design of the product from the concept stage to mass production, including sketches, CMF schemes, 3D modeling, rendering, and design implementation follow-up.
- Work closely with mechanical engineers and hardware engineers to optimize the product's appearance and spatial layout while ensuring structural reasonableness and manufacturability.
- Responsible for designing the interactive experience of the product in real usage scenarios, making it look 'credible, reliable, professional, and friendly.'
- Responsible for design specifications and the accumulation of design assets, forming a unified robot product design system and brand visual standards.
- Participate in prototype reviews, product iterations, appearance validation, and process evaluation during production ramp-up.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in industrial design, product design, design arts, or a related field, with 2+ years of hardware product design experience.
- Possess solid modeling skills and spatial awareness, with a systematic understanding of proportions, volumes, surfaces, and product language.
- Proficient in using at least one 3D modeling and rendering tool, such as Rhino, Alias, SolidWorks, Blender, KeyShot, etc.
- Possess complete experience in the product design process, capable of advancing from conceptual design all the way to engineering implementation.
- Has a basic engineering understanding of structures, processes, and manufacturing, and can take assembly, cost, and reliability into account in design.
- Have a strong interest in robots, smart hardware, and cutting-edge technology products, as well as aesthetic judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possess experience in designing robots, humanoid robots, smart hardware, or consumer electronic products.
- Familiar with CMF design, with mass production experience in plastic, metal, and composite exterior parts.
- Possess a certain brand awareness and be able to participate in the construction of the product's visual system and product image.
- Experience in deeply collaborating with R&D engineers and successfully driving the design from concept to mass production.
Work Style
- Industrial design here is not about 'making a visually appealing render,' but about truly influencing how the product is ultimately presented to the world.
- You will be deeply involved in the engineering process, repeatedly negotiating with the structural and hardware teams, finding the best balance between aesthetics and engineering.
- We hope you can shape the robot from 'laboratory equipment' into a form that makes people immediately feel it is a mature product.
