Experienced Roles
Mechanical Engineer - Humanoid Robot
Beijing
Full-time
3–5 years of experience
Bachelor's degree or higher
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the design of key structures/mechanisms of humanoid robots: torso skeleton, joint connection structures, outer covers, and assembly solutions, meeting requirements for load, stiffness, space, and appearance constraints.
- Execute transmission and mechanism design work: selection and verification of bearings/connections/transmission parts, controlling backlash, assembly accuracy, and service life.
- Rapid prototyping and iteration: independently or collaboratively process/complete sample parts with suppliers to verify assembly feasibility, range of motion, interference, wiring routing, and maintainability.
- Engineering Drawings and Standards: Output 2D drawings and GD&T (recommended to align with ASME Y14.5 approach), establish assembly reference systems and inspection plans.
- Analysis and Verification: Conduct strength/stiffness/fatigue analyses (such as FEA), develop and set up test rigs, and complete key performance indicator verification loops.
- Reliability and problem closure: Analyze failure modes, promote design improvements and engineering changes (ECO), implement fixes into BOM, processes, and inspections, and continuously enhance platform maturity.
- Supply Chain and Production Ramp-up: Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing teams on supplier selection, first article inspection, and process reviews (DFM/DFA), supporting pilot production and volume ramp-up.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, electromechanical engineering, robotics, or a related field, with 3–5 years of experience developing structures or mechanisms for complex electromechanical products; robotics industry experience is preferred.
- Proficient in at least one 3D CAD (SolidWorks/Creo/CATIA/NX, etc.), capable of completing complex part and assembly designs; able to independently produce high-quality engineering drawings and tolerance systems.
- Solid mechanical fundamentals: tolerance chains, materials and surface treatment, fastening and connections, friction/wear/lubrication, thermal and environmental adaptability, with the ability to implement engineering solutions.
- Experience in prototype assembly, debugging, and validation, able to make designs real in a lab/workshop environment (hands-on).
- Good cross-team collaboration and documentation skills, able to form a closed-loop delivery with electrical/embedded/test/manufacturing teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with humanoid/biped/quadruped/collaborative arm robots; or joint module/actuator integration experience (harmonic/planetary/epicyclic, etc.).
- Experience with production ramp-up (EVT/DVT/PVT, tooling and fixtures, first articles and pilot runs, supplier quality, and volume ramp-up).
- Familiar with wiring harness routing/connectors/structural space planning and mechatronic co-design under EMI constraints.
Work Style
- Fast-paced and ownership-driven: Design does not end when drawings are handed off; it must work reliably on the robot and be ready for volume production.
- Hands-on encouraged: Welcome to get your hands dirty and solve problems thoroughly.
